I had the extreme pleasure of working with Netflix for their Pride Month launch of @most - social feeds for centering their LGBTQ+ content and performers. I photographed over 15 queer Netflix stars in 3 days, working quickly to capture stunning photos between each person’s video interview.
Lighting, photography, and retouching by Iris Ray.
Produced by Ways & Means. Directed by Ely Kim.
Indulge me for a moment with this story.
First, I had about a minute or less with each member of Queer Eye’s Fab Five. My team and I devised a plan and moved so swiftly that no time constraints could get in the way of making the stunning photos you see below.
Second, I got to photograph the Fab Five just shy of a year after Season 1 Episode 5 of Queer Eye inspired me to (finally) come out as queer to my Christian family. An important reminder for me that - though it’s not easy - living authentically can make good things happen. Sometimes better than I even thought possible.
Behind The Scenes
Some of my BTS photos shared on @netflix to promote the launch of their new queer-centered account. Captured on 35mm film that had been pre-exposed to create the rainbow effect.
